Fake support and cloned sites impersonating crypto platforms
Published: 29 Oct 2026 · Worldwide
Scammers create fake websites with slightly altered domains and impersonate official support via unexpected DMs requesting seed phrases, passwords, or wallet access. Recent breach waves (e.g. SK finance names, Bithumb external attack) lead to KYC data used for follow-on phishing. Verify sources directly; never click unsolicited links.
Who is at risk
Anyone who uses social media, email or messaging apps
How to protect yourself
- Do not click links in unexpected messages, posts or direct messages.
- Check the sender or account through the official website, not through the message.
- Never share passwords, codes or recovery phrases.
