Fake support and refund phishing after major exchange incidents
Published: 3 Nov 2026 · Worldwide
Following large-scale hacks and drains (including Binance and Polymarket), scammers are @-mentioning users and sending DMs with fake refund pages, urgent wallet verification links, and support impersonations. These urge victims to connect wallets, share seeds, or move funds to malicious contracts. No legitimate entity will request seeds or direct wallet connections via unsolicited messages.
Who is at risk
Anyone who uses social media, email or messaging apps
How to protect yourself
- Do not click links in unexpected messages, posts or direct messages.
- Check the sender or account through the official website, not through the message.
